Starting today, Amazon customers in Spain will have a new payment option to defer purchases ranging from 60 to 3,000 euros over periods of 4 to 40 months through Zinia, Santander's consumer financing platform. In the coming weeks, Zinia will be gradually implemented for Amazon customers in Spain.

Any customer residing in Spain can complete the payment deferral process in just a few minutes by entering their Spanish ID (DNI) or Foreign Identification Number (NIE) and their credit or debit card number, or bank account number for direct debit payments.

This can be done intuitively through Amazon's website or app, backed by Grupo Santander's financial security and expertise. Financing is granted for each specific purchase, without the need to open a permanent line of credit, providing customers with greater control over their money. This agreement marks Zinia`s entry into Spain as part of its global expansion plan in countries where Santander Consumer Finance operates. Launched in 2022, the platform is designed to simplify the purchasing process for customers and give them the option to split their payments into installments. It is currently in operation in Germany and Austria, where it also collaborates with Amazon and other partners to offer consumer financing solutions.

Ramón Billordo, Country Manager of Zinia, said: "We are delighted to expand our consumer finance platform and begin operations in Spain with Amazon. Along with Amazon, we share the aim of offering customers financing solutions that simplify and make their purchases more flexible and secure. Through this new alliance, we continue to expand our customer base by partnering with top-tier companies like Amazon."

Ruth Díaz, Country Manager of Amazon in Spain, said: "Our mission is to offer customers convenient, simple, and secure payment choices that meet their diverse needs and preferences. We're excited to add Zinia by Santander to Amazon.es, to provide customers in Spain with more choice in how they pay on a wide selection of millions of products.”

Amazon customers will be able to defer purchases on most products available on the website and app, except for grocery items, out-of-stock products, Amazon gift cards, and certain digital products such as music, videos, Kindle books, apps, or game downloads.

Any transaction can be easily managed through the Amazon.es app and website. For more information, visit https://www.amazon.es.
